Two halves of the carbon fiber scaled blade were assembled together with an inner structural foam. The assembled scaled down blade, without the Tungsten ballast and the removable tip, was tested in static conditions to determine the actual modal frequencies. For this, the blade was cantilevered and a known input signal was generated by an impact hammer. Accelerometer data were collected from 27 locations across the blade through LMS data acquisition. Results showed reasonable agreement between the FEM analysis and the experiment. Additional data is available upon request.
