VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, USA – Smart Rotor Systems Inc. (SRS) displayed its innovative technologies during the AHS forum 67 held from May 3-5, 2011 in Virginia Beach, VA. The SRS exhibit showcased its unique product, the Active Pitch Link – capable of reducing vibrations by as much as 60%, controlling torsional stiffness of the blade and adding significantly to existing benefits of flow control devices such as the Actively Controlled Flap and/or the Active Twist Rotor. In collaboration with the Rotorcraft Research Group of Carleton University, SRS also presented a technical paper describing the first ever, closed-loop control tests of an electrically-driven Active Pitch Link (APL).

During the AHS Forum 67 conference and exhibit, the APL prototype and technical paper received favorable attention from forum participants including major helicopter manufacturers and military representatives. SRS plans to demonstrate its unique concept to major helicopter industry players in its own Whirl Tower facility in Ottawa, Canada, and is currently accepting visitor requests to the demonstrations to be held in June 2011. Requests to attend the demonstrations can be sent to info@smartrotorsystems.ca
