MOSCOW, RUSSIA - September 2-6, 2013, co-founder of Smart Rotor Systems, Kostyantyn Khomutov, attended the 39th European Rotorcraft Forum - one of the premier events in the rotorcraft community.   Technical presentations in the area of active vibration control for helicopters have yet again proven the superior advantage of the SRS’ Active Pitch Link and, so far, its unbeatable value proposition to helicopter manufacturers.   During the event, Kostyantyn met with leading helicopter research institutions in the world, representatives of leading helicopter manufacturers and their vibration reduction technology suppliers. Kostyantyn has confirmed the interest of Russian Helicopters, reengaged with AgustaWestland's technical team and secured their interest in SRS’ Active Pitch Link.

MOSCOW, RUSSIA - August 27-31, 2013, co-founder of Smart Rotor Systems, Kostyantyn Khomutov, as part of the Canadian delegation, organized by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment has, for the 2nd time, attended and exhibited at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2013.   Hundreds of aircraft and high aerospace technologies were displayed at MAKS 2013, on the grounds of the town of aircraft science and technology - Zhukovsky, at the airfield of the major national testing facility - Gromov Flight Research Institute. During the event, visitors watched a unique flying program presented by Europeans, Americans, Russians and Chinese aerobatic teams. MAKS 2013 had more that 350 thousand visitors and thousands of technical exhibits gathered in pavilions.   Kostyantyn has successfully exhibited Smart Rotor Systems’ innovative technology capable of reducing Noise and Vibration on helicopters simultaneously, and met with Chief Designers and Innovation Program Directors of leading Russian Helicopters’ companies Mil and Kamov. During the meetings, Kostyantyn secured their interest to collaborate on the implementation of the Active Pitch Link onto Russian helicopters and determined further steps required in order to establish collaboration with Russian Helicopters.

LAS VEGAS, NV, USA - From March 4-7, 2013, co-founder of Smart Rotor Systems, Kostyantyn Khomutov, was an active participant of the world’s largest helicopter exposition and trade show with more than 20,000 helicopter industry professionals that gathered on the 1.5 million square feet of show floor for HELI-EXPO 2013 .   During the show, Kostyantyn met with representatives of all leading helicopter manufactures and their 1st tier parts and service suppliers to discuss the value proposition that SRS brings to the industry, investment and partnership opportunities and common grounds for collaboration in commercialization of SRS’ groundbreaking technology - the Active Pitch Link.   Kostyantyn has initiated and established strong connections with the leading industry players, secured industry interest in the technology and has determined future steps for the successful implementation of the Active Pitch Link onto helicopters.

As budgets are cut and margins squeezed, and business becomes more competitive, industry is turning to challenges to seek diverse views on difficult problems. And the prize, for the companies, can be ideas, talent or visibility in key markets.   “Diversity of thought is key to innovation,” says Ray Johnson, Lockheed Martin senior vice president and chief technology officer. “The more different views you get on a problem, the more you can facilitate a culture of innovation.”   Increasingly, industry is using prize competitions to find ideas for innovations, and targets for investment. Lockheed ran an innovation challenge late last year, both globally and internally; Northrop Grumman stages a competition for students in the United Arab Emirates; Raytheon runs an annual internal competition, and Sikorsky has launched an online challenge to identify potential entrepreneurial partners. SRS extends its office to Sikorsky Innovations’ “incubator” space at Stamford Innovation Center, located in Stamford, CT, USA with the intent to participate in the educational program offered by Sikorsky Innovations to align its technology with Sikorsky’s needs. During the stay, co-founder and CEO of SRS, Kostyantyn Khomutov, aims to determine common grounds for collaboration with Sikorsky to bring SRS’ technology to the next level of commercialization and ultimately incorporate this technology into helicopters.

Sikorsky Innovations Announces Winner of First Entrepreneurial Challenge Competition

STRATFORD, Connecticut - Sikorsky Innovations, the technology development organization of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., has selected Pankl Aerospace Innovations, LLC, as the winner of its firstEntrepreneurial Challenge Competition. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
Pankl Aerospace Innovations, a newly formed spin-off entity of Pankl Aerospace based in Cerritos, California, was selected for its presentation of a portfolio of potentially transformational technologies packaged into an aircraft technology demonstrator named H.E.R.O. The H.E.R.O. technology demonstrator features active camouflage, bionically inspired rotor blades, and advanced aerodynamics.
